COROS June 2026 Update: Heart Rate Recovery, Battery Health and AllTrails Integration Explained
COROS has leaned on software rather than new hardware for most of 2026, and the June update is the third significant feature drop of the year following the March Spring update and a May release focused on voice control. If you own a current COROS watch, here’s what’s actually new and why it matters for triathlon training.
What’s New in June
- Automated heart rate recovery tracking — the watch now logs how quickly your heart rate drops after an effort without you needing to manually trigger a recovery test, giving a running picture of aerobic fitness trends over time.
- Battery health diagnostic page — a dedicated screen showing how your battery is ageing, useful for anyone who’s owned a watch for a couple of seasons and wants to know if declining battery life is normal wear or a fault.
- Direct AllTrails integration — trail routes saved in AllTrails can now sync straight to the watch, extending the route-following options beyond COROS’ own route planner.
Why It Matters for Triathletes
Heart rate recovery is one of the more useful low-effort fitness markers going — a faster drop after a hard set generally tracks with improving aerobic fitness, and having it logged automatically removes the friction of remembering to run a dedicated test. It pairs well with the Pace Strategy feature added in the Spring update, giving a fuller picture of both pacing and recovery in one ecosystem.
The battery health page is a smaller but genuinely practical addition — GPS watches lose charge capacity over 2-3 years of daily use like any rechargeable device, and being able to see that clearly rather than guess helps you plan a replacement before a big race rather than discovering a dying battery the week of an Ironman.
How to Get It
COROS rolls firmware updates out via the COROS app rather than a manual download — check for updates from the watch settings menu inside the app, and make sure your watch has a reasonable charge before starting, since a firmware update can fail partway through on a low battery.
