The April 25-26 Triathlon Super Weekend: WTCS Samarkand Meets T100 Singapore

On the weekend of April 25–26, two of the biggest events on the 2026 triathlon calendar collide. On the Saturday, the WTCS season opener gets underway in Samarkand, Uzbekistan — the first race awarding LA28 Olympic qualification points. On the same weekend, the T100 World Tour lands in Singapore for what promises to be the most watched middle-distance race of the year: Hayden Wilde vs Matt Hauser over 100km. You won’t want to miss either.

WTCS Samarkand 2026: The Olympic Points Race Begins

Samarkand hosts the WTCS for the second time after its debut in 2025, and the start list is stacked despite the absence of Matt Hauser, Alex Yee, and Hayden Wilde — all committed to the T100 format. On the women’s side, Lisa Tertsch (the reigning world champion), Cassandre Beaugrand, and the in-form Leonie Périault headline a deep French and German contingent. For the men, Miguel Hidalgo (Brazil), Vasco Vilaça (Portugal), David Cantero del Campo (Spain), and 2025 Karlovy Vary winner Henry Graf (Germany) will fight for early LA28 points.

T100 Singapore 2026: Wilde vs Hauser

The T100 World Tour returns to Marina Bay for a showdown that has been building since Matt Hauser signed up to debut over the 100km distance. Defending Singapore champion Hayden Wilde — who won five consecutive T100 races in 2025 on the way to his world title — faces the fresh legs and formidable speed of the reigning WTCS world champion. Kyle Smith (New Zealand), Sam Dickinson (GB), Gregor Payet, and Pierre Le Corre also make their 100km debuts on the Saturday. Prize money stands at $275,000 per race in 2026, with $50,000 for first.

Our Predictions

  • WTCS Samarkand Women: Leonie Périault (FRA) — Berlin form gives her the edge on the run
  • WTCS Samarkand Men: Miguel Hidalgo (BRA) — consistency since 2025 makes him the pick
  • T100 Singapore Women: Watch for Sophie Coldwell or Beth Potter if racing
  • T100 Singapore Men: Hayden Wilde — defending champion and format specialist, though Hauser is dangerous

How to Watch

WTCS Samarkand will be streamed live on World Triathlon‘s YouTube channel and social platforms, with coverage starting around 06:00 BST on Sunday April 26 for the mixed relay and individual races. T100 Singapore will stream on PTO’s social channels on April 25 (men) and April 26 (women). Check each organisation’s website for updated start times closer to race day.
