Challenge Roth 2026 Results: Sam Laidlow Breaks the Full-Distance World Record
Sam Laidlow won Challenge Roth for the second time on Sunday, crossing the line in 7:21:04 — the fastest full-distance triathlon time ever recorded, edging out Kristian Blummenfelt’s previous world record of 7:21:12 set at IRONMAN Cozumel in 2022. In the women’s race, 24-year-old Alanis Siffert produced a standout bike leg and a 12-minute personal-best marathon to beat pre-race favourites Lucy Charles-Barclay and Kat Matthews, becoming the youngest winner in Roth’s history since Challenge created the Challenge label in 2002.
Men’s Race
Laidlow’s 7:21:04 set a new course record at Roth and made him, alongside Blummenfelt, one of only two men to have gone under 7:22 over the full distance. Blummenfelt was runner-up in 7:26:24, 5:20 back, with Germany’s Rico Bogen completing the podium in 7:27:53. It was Laidlow’s second Challenge Roth title.

Women’s Race
Siffert’s 8:09:09 was built on a standout bike leg and a 12-minute personal-best marathon split, enough to hold off Charles-Barclay, who finished second in 8:16:41. Fellow Briton Daisy Davies was third in 8:27:19, with Kat Matthews fourth and Germany’s Caroline Pohle rounding out the top five.

Season Implications
Laidlow’s win is his second Challenge Roth title and the fastest full-distance triathlon time recorded to date. For Siffert, it’s her first Challenge Roth win, achieved as the event’s youngest champion since 2002.
