Tips for Spring Racing

  • Water temperatures: UK open water in April and May typically ranges from 10-15°C. A wetsuit is almost always required and strongly recommended even where optional — beyond buoyancy, neoprene provides thermal protection in these conditions.
  • Register early: Popular events like Portland and Nantwich sell out months in advance. Check race websites now for 2026 entry availability.
  • Check the British Triathlon events database at britishtriathlon.org for the full national calendar, including age group championship events and qualification races.
