T100 Vancouver 2026 Results: Julie Derron Runs Down Kate Waugh for the Win
Julie Derron ran down early leader Kate Waugh over the closing 18km of the run to win the women’s T100 Vancouver on 15 August 2026, taking the overall lead of the T100 World Tour standings in the process. Georgia Taylor-Brown completed the podium in third, with Canadian Paula Findlay fourth on home soil.
Women’s Race
Kate Waugh, racing on a comeback from a serious calf injury, led out of the swim and controlled the bike leg, but couldn’t hold off a charging Derron once the pair hit the 18km run. Derron’s closing speed proved decisive, and she crossed the line in 3:33:26 to Waugh’s 3:35:06. Waugh finished the race with a swollen right elbow after slipping into a fence on the final lap, but held on for second ahead of Georgia Taylor-Brown.
- Julie Derron (SUI) — 3:33:26
- Kate Waugh (GBR) — +1:40
- Georgia Taylor-Brown (GBR) — +3:01
- Paula Findlay (CAN) — +3:29
- Imogen Simmonds (SUI) — +4:44
Why No Men’s Race?
T100 Vancouver was scheduled as a women’s-only round on the 2026 T100 Triathlon World Tour calendar, with the men’s tour visiting a separate set of host cities across the season.
Season Implications
Derron’s win moved her to the top of the T100 World Tour overall standings. It’s a big result for Waugh too, given she was racing back from a serious calf injury and still finished on the podium despite the late fence mishap.
