T100 Spain 2026 Race Preview: Navarra-Pamplona Women’s Race
The T100 Triathlon World Tour heads to Navarra-Pamplona, Spain on Saturday 23 May 2026 for the women’s-only elite race. Set against the backdrop of northern Spain’s dramatic Navarra region, this is one of four women’s exclusive events on the 2026 T100 calendar and one of the most scenic race venues of the season.
Race Overview
The Spain T100 carries a prize pool of $275,000 USD, making it a significant earnings and qualification event in the 2026 T100 Triathlon World Tour. Top-10 age-group finishers in each category earn a spot at the 2026 Qatar T100 World Championship Finals in December. The race format covers 100km total distance in a non-drafting format.
Course Guide
Swim (2km): Athletes begin with a 2km open water swim in the stunning Alloz Reservoir, set in the mountains of northern Navarra. Water temperatures in late May typically sit around 18–20°C. The clear mountain reservoir rewards strong open water swimmers.
Bike (80km): A rolling point-to-point bike course on beautiful Navarran roads leading directly into Pamplona. Athletes navigate undulating terrain through wine country, with the net descent into the city providing faster speeds in the final stretch. The roads are scenic but technically demanding.
Run (18km): The run winds through 18km of Pamplona’s iconic medieval streets, delivering the T100’s signature urban race atmosphere. Expect passionate crowd support in the old city — this is one of the most atmospheric run courses in professional triathlon.
Women’s Race Preview
As a women’s-only T100 event, Navarra-Pamplona will bring together the very best female long-course triathletes in the world. With the 2026 T100 season already delivering high-drama racing at Gold Coast and Singapore, the form lines are becoming clearer.
Following her dominant start to the 2026 T100 season, Kate Waugh (GBR) — the current PTO world number one — will be among the top favourites for a win on Spanish soil. The technical run through Pamplona’s cobbled streets could suit her all-round capabilities.
Other athletes to watch include Chelsea Sodaro (USA), Laura Philipp (GER), and Paula Findlay (CAN) — all of whom have shown strong 2026 form and will relish the challenging Navarran course.
