Orca Athlex Aero Race Suit V2 Review 2026
What Is the Orca Athlex Aero Race Suit V2?
The Athlex Aero Race Suit V2 is Orca’s refresh of its established aero tri suit, now available in both men’s and women’s fits. It keeps the same race-day focus as the outgoing version but updates the fabric across the shoulders, arms and back for lower drag, and reworks the heat-management panels for hot-weather racing.
Verified Specs
- Price: around £140 (confirmed £140.47 at Deporvillage; also stocked at Wetsuit Centre and MyTriathlon.co.uk)
- Aero fabric: Updated aerodynamic weave across the shoulders, arms and back, aimed at reducing air friction versus the outgoing Athlex Aero suit
- Cooling: Vapour Cool fabric panels on either side of the upper torso to expel heat and moisture more efficiently in hot conditions

Who Is It For?
This is a race-day suit rather than a training piece — the aero fabric and thinner chamois are optimised for one to five hours of racing, not daily brick sessions. It suits sprint through to full-distance racing where you’ll wear one suit for the whole event rather than changing kit at T1, and the Vapour Cool panels make it a sensible pick for warmer-weather races.
Buying Tips
- Try before race day — aero-cut tri suits fit closer than training kit, and Orca’s sizing can run slightly snug through the chest and shoulders.
- The 4mm chamois is thinner than most dedicated cycling shorts by design — expect to feel the saddle more on longer rides and plan your bike fit accordingly.
- If you’re racing somewhere hot, the Vapour Cool panels are the standout upgrade over the outgoing V1 — worth the update for IRONMAN and 70.3 racing in summer.
