WTCS Pontevedra 2026 Results: Hauser Wins Sprint Finish, Vilaça and Beaugrand Take World Titles
Matthew Hauser (AUS) won the elite men’s race at the WTCS Grand Final in Pontevedra, Spain, in a sprint finish with Vasco Vilaça (POR), and Cassandre Beaugrand (FRA) won the women’s race. Vilaça’s second place was enough to secure his first world title, and Beaugrand took the women’s title after winning all five of her 2026 WTCS starts.
Men’s Race
Hauser and Vilaça were given the same time of 1:39:31, with Hauser awarded the win after a sprint finish. Alex Yee (GBR) was third, four seconds back, and Ricardo Batista (POR) fourth, five seconds back. Hayden Wilde (NZL) was fifth, 55 seconds behind the winner.

Women’s Race
Beaugrand won in 1:50:52. Georgia Taylor-Brown (GBR) was second, 1:05 back, and Kate Waugh (GBR) third, 1:31 back. Beth Potter (GBR) was fourth and Laura Lindemann (GER) fifth.

Roksana Slupek crashed while taking a drink and collided with Sophie Evans, and both abandoned.
Season Implications
Beaugrand won all five of her 2026 WTCS starts (Alghero, Quiberon, London, Weihai and Pontevedra) to take the women’s world title. Vilaça secured his first men’s world title with second place in Pontevedra.
