Wahoo Launches Tiered App Subscription: What’s Free vs Paid in 2026
Wahoo has restructured its training app into three subscription tiers, adding a paid mid-tier between the existing free plan and its top-end Pro subscription. If you own a Wahoo KICKR or ELEMNT, here’s what’s still free and what now costs extra.
The Three Tiers
- Base (free): included with any compatible Wahoo hardware — workout recording, route planning, live tracking and sharing, and device connectivity.
- Core (£4.99/month or £49.99/year): adds training insights and trends, performance analytics, and training load and fitness tracking on top of Base.
- Pro (£14.99/month or £149.99/year): everything in Core, plus unlimited access to the SYSTM app, daily workout recommendations and structured training plans.
New Features Riding Alongside It
The update also introduces 3DP (Three-Dimensional Pace), a running performance profile covering threshold pace, maximal aerobic pace and anaerobic capacity — Wahoo’s running equivalent of its existing 4DP cycling power profile. A new integration also syncs running activity data between the Wahoo app and COROS devices.
Do Triathletes Need to Pay?
If you already use a KICKR purely for structured turbo sessions and a separate platform (Zwift, TrainerRoad) for the actual workouts, Base covers recording and connectivity and costs nothing. Core is the tier worth considering if you want Wahoo’s own training-load tracking rather than exporting to a third-party tool. Pro only earns its keep if you’ll actually use the SYSTM structured plans — if you already follow a coach or a plan elsewhere, you’re paying for a library you won’t open.
