Giant Contact SLR Aero Stem: Carbon Integrated Stem for OverdriveAero Steerers (£279.99)
The Giant Contact SLR Aero is a carbon stem made for Giant’s D-shaped aero steerer tubes. We have not tested it ourselves. This page collects Giant’s listed specs, the Tredz price and who it suits.
Available now: Giant Contact SLR Aero Stem — £279.99 at Tredz, correct at time of writing, 3 October 2026.

What the manufacturer and retailers list
- Material: Advanced SL Carbon, per Giant’s product page.
- Angle and clamp: −10°, with a 31.8 mm bar clamp.
- Steerer: Giant’s page lists OverdriveAero steerers only, so it will not fit a round steerer.
- Weight: Giant’s spec table gives 133 g at 80 mm and 163 g at 140 mm, rising 5 g for each 10 mm of length between them.
- Lengths: Giant’s table starts at 80 mm; check the Tredz page for the lengths currently in stock.
Specs are taken from Giant’s Swiss product page. We did not find a list of compatible Giant models on that page, so check your frame’s steerer shape before ordering.
Where it fits a triathlete’s training
The points below are our reading of the listed specs, not test results.
- A Giant aero-frame upgrade. If your bike has a D-shaped OverdriveAero steerer, this is a lighter carbon option than an alloy stem.
- Fit changes. Stem length and angle change your reach and drop, so get a bike fit before swapping to a different length.
- Not for round steerers. Most non-Giant bikes need a different stem; see our Zipp Service Course stem review.
- Price. At £279.99 it is a premium stem. Tredz shows no discount on it at time of writing.
