What the manufacturer and retailers list

  • Light output: 550 lumens high, 300 medium, 140 low, 400 night flash and 600 day flash.
  • Video: 4K at 30 fps, 1440p30, 1080p30 and 1080p60.
  • Runtime: listings quote up to 7 hours in day flash with 1080p30 recording and up to 5 hours in day flash with 4K. Retailers give shorter figures in steady modes, so check the high-mode runtime if you ride in the dark.
  • Storage: needs a microSD card of at least 8 GB, supported up to 512 GB.
  • Connectivity and mount: ANT+, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, controllable from an Edge computer, a compatible watch or the Varia app, with an out-front mount in the box.
  • Build: IPX7 water rating, 92 × 60 × 33 mm, 200 g.

Specs are taken from a UK retailer listing that reproduces Garmin’s figures and from other retailers. We have not seen independent runtime or video-quality tests.

Where it fits a triathlete’s training

The points below are our reading of the listed specs, not test results.

  • Dark-morning and winter rides. A bright light with auto-save when it detects an incident covers early sessions on open roads.
  • Group and solo evidence. A forward camera records close passes and incidents for reporting.
  • Race rules. Cameras can be restricted at races; see our note on IRONMAN 2026 camera rules before racing with it.
  • Price. At £459.99 it costs much more than a plain light. Our guide to bike lights for early-morning training covers cheaper options.
