ASICS unveiled BLAZEBLAST on 1 July 2026 — its first all-new trail running franchise in years. It launches globally on 1 August 2026, with UK pre-orders opening earlier at Sports Direct. Here’s what ASICS has confirmed, and what’s still unknown.

What ASICS Has Confirmed

Midsole: FF BLAST MAX cushioning with a “trampoline pod” forefoot construction for extra rebound and toe-off energy.
Outsole: ASICSGRIP rubber with 2.5mm lugs, tuned for what ASICS calls “runnable terrain” — light and mixed trail rather than technical singletrack.
Drop: 8mm heel-to-toe.
Upper: engineered woven construction.
Price: £139.99 in the UK, $150 in the US.
Availability: global launch 1 August 2026; Sports Direct’s UK listing shows pre-orders from 30 July 2026.

ASICS is positioning BLAZEBLAST deliberately as an easy-going crossover shoe rather than a technical trail racer. Magdalena Gassebner, ASICS’ Global Product Manager, put it this way: “Rather than developing another highly technical trail shoe, we focused on creating an energetic, confidence-inspiring experience that feels approachable from the very first run.”

What We Don’t Know Yet

ASICS hasn’t published a stack height or weight figure for BLAZEBLAST — even Running Warehouse’s own product listing still marks both “Coming Soon.” We won’t guess at numbers here; we’ll update this post as soon as ASICS confirms them.

Who It’s For

With 2.5mm lugs and a “runnable terrain” brief, this reads as a shoe for towpaths, parkland and light off-road rather than rocky, technical trail — a step below something like the HOKA Speedgoat 7 in outright grip, but likely more comfortable for triathletes mixing road and easy trail in the same training week.
