COROS PACE 4 September 2026 Update: Full Mapping, Climb Alerts and What Else Is New

COROS has pushed out its September 2026 firmware update, and it’s a bigger one than most monthly refreshes — the headline addition is full mapping support for the PACE 4, a feature that previously set the more expensive APEX and VERTIX ranges apart from COROS’s budget-focused running watch.

What’s New

• Full maps on PACE 4: on-watch mapping plus a timeline view for outdoor activities, alongside climb alerts for rides.
• Climb Alerts in bike modes: notifications at the start and finish of each climb, with real-time progress and remaining elevation gain shown mid-climb.
• Expanded Voice Control: more in-activity functions can now be triggered by voice, including adjusting activity alerts, opening navigation, and setting timers.
• Cycling power data: Torque and Total Work (kJ) metrics added, and Left/Right power balance now syncs to third-party platforms alongside the rest of your ride data.
• Faster firmware updates: a new upgrade method speeds up the install process and lets you keep using the COROS app while an update installs.
• Battery usage stats: a new watch-face widget breaks down what’s actually draining your battery.
• More accurate elevation on imported routes: COROS says elevation data on routes brought in from third-party platforms is now more reliable.

Full mapping on the PACE 4 is the meaningful change here — it closes one of the clearest gaps between COROS’s mid-range running watch and Garmin’s Forerunner line, without pushing PACE 4 owners toward a pricier APEX or VERTIX. The cycling-focused additions (Climb Alerts, Torque, Total Work, L/R balance sync) matter most if you train with a power meter and want that data flowing through to TrainingPeaks or a similar platform without manual exporting.
