Wahoo ELEMNT RIVAL Review 2026: A Multisport Watch Built for Triathletes

A watch built to talk to your bike computer

The Wahoo ELEMNT RIVAL is a multisport GPS watch designed specifically to complement Wahoo’s ELEMNT bike computers rather than replace them. If you already race with an ELEMNT BOLT, ROAM or ACE mounted on your bike, the RIVAL’s standout trick is handling the swim and run legs while handing off cleanly to your computer for the bike.

Key specs

  • Touchless Transition — Automatically hands split times and discipline-specific data between the watch and an ELEMNT bike computer without you pressing anything during a race
  • Weight and display — 52g, with a 1.2-inch non-touchscreen display protected by a ceramic bezel and Gorilla Glass
  • Battery life — Up to 24 hours in GPS training mode, or 14 days in smartwatch mode
  • Sensors — Barometric altimeter, built-in compass, accelerometer and optical heart rate

What it doesn’t do

Compared with a Garmin multisport watch, the RIVAL is deliberately stripped back: no sleep tracking, no adaptive training guidance, and no contactless payment. Triathlete’s review summed it up well — it’s an excellent, focused sports tracker rather than an everyday smartwatch, and it makes most sense if you’re already inside the Wahoo ecosystem.

Price and where to buy

RRP is £299.99, though it’s often available for less.
