IRONMAN Texas 2026 Results: Blummenfelt Smashes Records, Løvseth Triumphs

Race Overview

The 2026 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas delivered one of the most spectacular days in long-course history. Held on 18 April in The Woodlands, Texas, the race produced the second-fastest Ironman time ever recorded, with Norwegian athletes dominating both men’s and women’s podiums heading into Kona season.

Men’s Pro Results

Kristian Blummenfelt (NOR) crossed the line in 7:21:24 — the second-fastest Ironman time in history, trailing only his own 7:21:11 at Ironman Cozumel. Despite a slow-leaking tyre late on the bike that cost him roughly a minute, the Olympic champion responded with a scorching 2:30:47 marathon to seal the win.

Women’s Pro Results

Solveig Løvseth (NOR) delivered what she described as her most complete Ironman performance, clocking 8:11:09. She moved to the front at around six miles into the run and extended her lead over Taylor Knibb, who ran a 10-minute marathon personal best in second.

Key Storylines

  • Blummenfelt’s puncture and comeback: A slow leak with around 30km to go on the bike tested the Norwegian’s composure, but he responded with a sub-2:31 marathon split.
  • Norwegian dominance: Blummenfelt, Stornes, and Løvseth all podium’d — a remarkable showing for Norwegian long-course triathlon in a single race.
  • Vincent Luis earns Kona slot: The French sprint world champion qualified for the World Championship in only his second full-distance race.
  • Brock Hoel sets Canadian national record: The 24-year-old clocked 7:29:56 in fifth, smashing his national record and signalling big things ahead.

What This Means for Kona 2026
