WTCS London 2026: Course Guide and How to Watch
World Triathlon Championship Series London returns on 25 July 2026, bringing elite sprint-distance racing to Hyde Park for what promises to be one of the most electric events on the global triathlon calendar. Whether you’re heading to the capital to spectate or watching from home, here’s everything you need to know.
Race Date and Format
WTCS London takes place on 25 July 2026. The event hosts both elite and age-group racing across the weekend. Elite athletes compete in a sprint-distance format (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run) with draft-legal cycling, meaning tactics and pack positioning are as crucial as raw speed. Expect a fast, spectacular race with the finish line surrounded by thousands of spectators in one of the world’s greatest cities.
The Hyde Park Course
The swim takes place in the Serpentine lake in Hyde Park — famously flat and calm, giving swimmers excellent sighting conditions. The bike leg uses closed road circuits around the park and surrounding streets, with multiple laps creating plenty of viewing opportunities. The run course is a tight, fast loop through the park with a spectacular finish line. The entire venue is designed for spectating — you can see multiple legs of the race from a single vantage point.
Best Spectator Spots
- Swim exit and T1 — watch the pros sprint out of the Serpentine and into the transition zone for some of the fastest transitions in the sport
- Bike circuit corners — position yourself where the pack accelerates out of a turn for the most dramatic cycling action
- Finish line grandstand — the best atmosphere and free to access from the park; arrive early for the best spots
- Run turnaround — catch athletes multiple times as they loop through the park, and shout encouragement to the age-groupers too
How to Get There
Hyde Park is served by multiple tube stations: Hyde Park Corner (Piccadilly line), Knightsbridge (Piccadilly), Queensway (Central), and Lancaster Gate (Central). All are a short walk from the race venue. Cycling in or walking from nearby stations is the easiest approach on race day — road closures are in effect around the park, so driving is not recommended. Arrive early as crowds build quickly around the finish area and Serpentine.
