T100 Vancouver Women 2026: Early Preview and Athletes to Watch

The T100 women’s race heads to Vancouver, Canada on 15 August 2026 — and with Kate Waugh on a stunning unbeaten run through the season, the question is whether anyone can stop her from sealing the T100 season title on Canadian soil. Vancouver’s Stanley Park circuit adds a demanding dimension: unlike the flat Gold Coast and Singapore venues, the run course here carries significant elevation, which could change the dynamic of the race in favour of the more complete athletes.

The Course

The T100 Vancouver format follows the standard T100 structure: 1,000m swim, 100km bike and 10km run. The Stanley Park setting provides a dramatic backdrop with the swim in English Bay and the bike and run through the park’s forested roads. The run course, in particular, is more technical than the flat circuits used at Gold Coast and Singapore — the elevation profile rewards athletes with genuine run strength rather than pure run speed on flat ground. The late-summer weather in Vancouver (mid-20s°C in August) means heat management will be a factor.

Key Contenders

Kate Waugh (GBR) — The Favourite

Kate Waugh enters Vancouver as the undisputed T100 women’s leader in 2026. Two wins from two starts — Gold Coast and Singapore — have propelled her to the top of the PTO rankings. Waugh’s ability to combine strong swimming with a relentless run has made her nearly impossible to beat in T100 format. The hilly Vancouver course theoretically suits her: Waugh’s running power on technical terrain is at least as strong as her pace on flat circuits.

Paula Findlay (CAN) — Home Favourite

Paula Findlay racing in Canada is the most compelling story of the Vancouver event. Findlay’s career has been one of the most remarkable comeback narratives in long-course racing — from a devastating Olympics DNF in 2012 to a top-10 Kona athlete and consistent T100 performer. Racing in front of a Canadian crowd in Vancouver will give her a motivational boost. She knows the climate, she knows the terrain, and she has nothing to lose. Podium potential is real.

Fenella Langridge (GBR)

Langridge has been one of the most consistent performers on the T100 circuit without yet breaking through for a win. Her bike-to-run combination is effective on technical courses, and Vancouver’s hilly run profile suits her strengths. A podium finish would be well within her capabilities.

Ruth Astle (GBR)

Ruth Astle’s long-course trajectory has been impressive in 2025-26, transitioning from age-group star to genuine elite contender. She has the engine for T100 format — outstanding on the bike, improving on the run. Vancouver could be her breakthrough podium.

Chelsea Sodaro (USA)

The former Kona world champion has been working her way back to top form. If Sodaro is on a good day, her run off the bike is one of the most feared in the field. Watch for her particularly on the run course where elevation changes favour her power-to-weight ratio.

How to Watch

T100 Vancouver Women takes place on 15 August 2026. Live coverage is available on Discovery+ (UK, subscription) and via the PTO’s YouTube channel for select markets. The full start list and confirmed broadcast schedule will be available on protriathletes.org closer to race day.

Prediction

Gold: Kate Waugh — the form of the season and the course suits her. Silver: Paula Findlay — home advantage and motivation could deliver a career-best result. Bronze: Fenella Langridge or Ruth Astle — GB depth at this level is remarkable.
