What the manufacturer and retailers list
- Aero design: the manufacturer says it was developed using computational fluid dynamics and wind-tunnel testing at the Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub, with a bypass channel and intake channel to reduce drag. We have not seen independent drag numbers.
- Visor: a magnetic visor that sits flush with the shell, with interchangeable clear and smoke lenses.
- Protection: Mips Air rotational impact system.
- Fit: the 360 Occigrip fit system. Listings quote different weights by size, from about 350 g in small/medium to about 490 g in large/extra-large with the visor, so check the size you need.
- In the box: listings mention fit pads and a carrying bag.
Specs are taken from Sweet Protection’s product page and retailer listings. Weights vary by size and by whether the visor is counted.
Where it fits a triathlete’s training
The points below are our reading of the listed specs, not test results.
- Aero road and bike-leg training. A vented aero shell with a visor suits fast group rides and race-pace sessions.
- Not a TT helmet. Some retailers file it under time-trial helmets, but Tredz lists it as a road helmet If you plan to use it in time trials, check the event rules first.
- Price. At £359.20 it sits at the top of road-helmet prices. Cheaper aero options are in our guide to aero triathlon helmets under £200.
