Where it fits a triathlete’s winter

The points below are our reading of the listed specs, not test results.

  • Cold, dry-ish days. A windproof softshell suits steady winter rides where you stay warm from effort. The listing calls the membrane waterproof, but a softshell is not a full rain shell, so check the conditions.
  • Layering. Listed as close-fitting with raglan sleeves, so plan the base layer underneath rather than assuming room for several.
  • Overheating. A two-way zip lets you open the jacket without stopping. If your rides are hard efforts above about 5°C, a lighter wind jacket may suit better.
  • Sizing. We have not checked the size range, so confirm it against GripGrab’s size chart.
