What the retailer lists

  • Protection: Spherical Technology, a ball-and-socket design powered by Mips, with dual-density Nanobead EPS foam.
  • Rating: Giro says Virginia Tech gave Giro Spherical helmets its top 5-star rating.
  • Airflow: 24 Wind Tunnel vents with an Aura II reinforcing arch and internal channels.
  • Fit: the Roc Loc 5+ Air fit system, with a DryCore brow pad to move sweat away from the eyes.
  • Weight: Tredz’s listed figure for size medium looks like a typo, so check Giro’s own page for the weight.

Where it fits for triathletes

The points below are our reading of the listed features, not test results.

  • Hot, hard rides. The vent count and internal channels target airflow on climbs and in summer racing. We have not tested it.
  • Draft-legal racing. It is a ventilated road helmet, not a time trial lid.
