What the retailer lists

  • Output: up to 2,000 lumens on the Super Bright (SB) and up to 1,700 lumens on the Road Sport (RS).
  • Runtime: two hours at maximum output on both models, and up to 36 hours across the other programs and modes.
  • Charging: USB-C, which the listing says also lets you extend battery life with a power bank or top up other devices.
  • Control: ANT+ so you can operate the light from a compatible bike computer, or a dedicated wireless remote switch.
  • AKTiv: automatically dims the output when it senses oncoming light. Two sensors now read a wider spectrum of light, where earlier versions used one.
  • Display: a larger OLED screen and a One-Touch Status Check for charge level and program/mode.
  • Durability: IP67 waterproof rating and IK09 impact rating.

Where it fits for triathletes

The points below are our reading of the listed specs, not test results.

  • Early-morning and winter rides. The listing describes a light that dims for oncoming traffic, which is the situation on unlit lanes.
  • Two hours at maximum. Maximum output is a short-burst setting, so longer night rides will sit on a lower mode. The listing does not give a runtime for each mode.
  • SB or RS. On the listed figures, the £60 difference buys 300 lumens at maximum output. Whether you would use that depends on how much of your riding is on unlit roads at speed.
