Garmin MARQ (Gen 3): Prices, Specs and What’s New

Updated 15 October 2026: Garmin launched the MARQ (Gen 3) on 13 October 2026. This page now covers the launch specs and prices as reported at launch. We have not tested the watch.

What Garmin launched

According to the5krunner’s launch report, Garmin launched six MARQ (Gen 3) editions on 13 October 2026: Athlete, Adventurer, Golfer, Aviator, Commander and Diver. All share a 47 mm Grade 5 titanium case and a 1.4-inch AMOLED display under sapphire.

Prices and availability

  • Athlete: $2,500 / €2,550, silicone rubber strap.
  • Adventurer: $2,700 / €2,750, Italian leather and rubber strap.
  • Golfer: $2,800 / €2,850.
  • Aviator, Commander and Diver: $3,100 / €3,150 each.

Garmin had not listed UK prices in the launch coverage we found. Pre-orders were sold through Garmin’s own stores and Garmin.com, with shipping quoted at 5 to 8 weeks for the Athlete, Adventurer and Diver and 8 to 12 weeks for the Golfer, Aviator and Commander.

What is new against the MARQ (Gen 2)

  • Connectivity: phone-free LTE calls and messages, plus satellite messaging and SOS. These need an inReach plan, from $9.99 a month after a 30-day trial.
  • Hardware: speaker, microphone, LED flashlight and an ECG app.
  • Size and storage: 47 mm and 1.4 inches, against 46 mm and 1.2 inches on Gen 2, with 128 GB of storage against 32 GB.
  • Battery: up to 18 days in smartwatch mode and up to 32 hours in normal activity mode. The source warns that Gen 2’s 42-hour GPS figure is not directly comparable.

Is it worth it for triathletes?

The Gen 3 is a luxury titanium watch priced above $2,500, and the extra features are mostly about LTE and satellite use rather than triathlon training. The training software comes from the Fenix line. If your priority is racing and training, the watches below cover the same ground for far less.
