Abus GameChanger Tri Aero Helmet: Magnetic Visor, Shorter Tail (£280)
The Abus GameChanger Tri is a triathlon-specific aero helmet with a fixed magnetic visor, a shortened tail and a one-handed magnetic buckle. We have not tested it. This page collects what Tredz lists and the current price.
Available now: Abus GameChanger Tri Cycling Helmet — £280 at Tredz (listed RRP £345), correct at time of writing, 12 October 2026.

What the retailer lists
- Tail: a shorter comb-tail, which Abus says compensates for the extra head movement after long hours in the saddle or on inclines.
- Ventilation: Forced Air Cooling, with front and rear vents joined by deep channels.
- Visor: a magnetically fixed visor with an anti-fog coating. The listing says the aerodynamics stay consistent with the visor, sports glasses or neither.
- Fit: height-adjustable Zoom Ace system, compatible with a ponytail.
- Strap: Fidlock magnetic buckle that closes with one hand, and FlowStraps webbing designed not to flutter.
- Structure: multi-shell in-mould construction with ActiCage reinforcement inside the EPS foam.
- Extras: AirPort glasses holder with strap guide. Made in Italy.
- Shape: a multi-position design, aimed at minimal drag in all rider positions.
Tredz does not list a weight or a sizing chart in the description, so check both against your head before ordering.
Where it fits for triathletes
The points below are our reading of the listed features, not test results.
- Transitions. A buckle that closes with one hand is useful when you are fastening a helmet in a hurry at the mount line.
- Sunglasses. The glasses holder and the visor are both on the spec sheet, which suits riders who change between the two across a season.
- Heat. Aero shells run warmer than vented road helmets. Abus lists the cooling channels, but how it copes in a hot half-ironman we have not tested.
