What the retailer lists
- Fabric: 298 g Polartec AirCore, PFAS free and made from recycled PET.
- Weather protection: windproof and water resistant, with an electrospun air-permeable membrane. Castelli lists a hydrostatic head over 5,000 mm and air permeability of 0.7 CFM.
- Lining: a waffle-textured fleecy print on the inside, and a fleece-lined collar.
- Fit: a regular fit, stretchy enough for the ride position.
- Pockets and visibility: three rear pockets, reflective heat transfers at the sides of the pockets and 360° reflective detailing.
- Temperature range: made for -4 to 10°C.
Where it fits for triathletes
The points below are our reading of the listed features, not test results.
- Cold, damp training rides. Castelli says it keeps you dry in all but sustained heavy rain, which makes it a winter training layer rather than a storm jacket. We have not tested it.
- Warmth. The listed -4 to 10°C range is cold-weather riding. On milder days it will probably run warm.
- Price. At £199.00 it is £71.00 below the listed RRP.
